Dennis Vera is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at IU Bloomington, with a double concentration in Policy Analysis and Public Administration. Dennis Vera graduated from Earlham College with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and Spanish and Hispanic Studies. As a Service Corps fellow, Dennis has chosen to work for Serve IT. As the IT Leadership Consultant, Dennis will be providing leadership workshops to Serve IT undergraduate students. She will also be supporting undergraduate students in strategic planning in order to ensure they are on track with their projects.
Dennis has served as the Program Coordinator for Corazon Latino, a program within Amigos that focuses youth on academic success and cultural empowerment. Dennis directed and executed the bilingual College Success Conference, a conference that provided low-income and first-generation college students with information about the college process through a set of workshops. She also led programming for the Diversity Progress Committee (DPC) and partook in the accretion of the college, with an emphasis on increasing the retention rates of minority students.
Dennis is passionate about creating an inclusive environment for Serve IT undergraduate students, as well as supporting them in any way possible in their projects and professional endeavors.
